A3591B booting off of a XIOtech MAGNITUDE
I am trying to boot off of a fiber channel attached XIOtech MAGNITUDE array using HP-UX 11 with the PHKL_23939 patch installed using an A3591B card in a R class 9000 (R390).
The install to the fiber box goes well. When I try to boot off the fiber box, I receive the following:
WARN 80F9.
Cannot find ENTRY_TEST.
Failed to initialize.
ENTRY_INIT
Status = -7
FFFFFFF9 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000

Then the server searches for and finds the internal disk and boots off the internal disk.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Re: A3591B booting off of a XIOtech MAGNITUDE
A XIOtech is not a supported boot device. Boot devices have some special requirements... and it looks like the XIOtech does not support them.
It's unlikely that it'll work without a firmware patch from Seagate/XIOtech.
Good luck.
