Added MSA30 but only half the drives are available

Looks like this MSA30 has a dual port module as opposed to the single port module that the other MSA30 enclosures have. It's connected via a single scsi cable to the MSA1500 controller. I did try connecting the "other" port on the MSA30 to the MSA1500 w/o any success. What is proper method of connecting this MSA with a dual port module to the 1500 so that all 14 drives are available? At this time, only 1/2 are available, lit and actively in use. The other half are not even "lit" Any help is greatly appreciated!

If there are 2 connectors (dual bus module), you need 2 cables.

Will I need to "reboot" the SAN in order for them to be recognized after re-cabling? I did try adding the secondary SCSI cable to no avail (w/o a "reboot")

SCSI cables are NEVER hot plug!

The quickspecs (from 2008) says:
""Hot Plug Expansion and Replacement Support - The MSA1500 cs supports hot plug expansion and replacement of redundant controllers, fans, power supplies, Serial ATA and SCSI disk enclosures, and I/O cards for simple, fast installation and maintenance.""


There is one thing that sometimes gets overlooked:

* you MUST NOT connect two MSA30 SCSI channels to the same MSA1500cs I/O module.

Both VHDCI connectors on the I/O module are only good to connect two MSA20 enclosures.
In other words, you can connect:
- one MSA30 channel
-- a single-bus MSA30
-- or one bus of a dual-bus MSA30
- one MSA20
- two MSA20
