Advisores for Upgrading VCS and Command View versions..

I have an SMAIII (Windows 2000 with SP4) in which is installed HP OpenView Storage Management Appliance software v2.1 without SP´s.
I have an EVA3000 VSC 3025
I have FC disk´s 146GB some of them are modelnumber:BD1465822C; firmwareversion:HP02 and others are modelnumber:BD1465822C; firmwareversion:HP01
I have some hosts with Win2000SP4, Win2003 SP1-32 Bit and Win2003 -64Bit
I have already Downloaded VCS3028.
I need some advidores or best practices in order to do the upgrade. What should be the phases and the order that I should to follow ?

Thanks,

Am not too sure if this would help -

Re: Advisores for Upgrading VCS and Command View versions..

HP normally likes to do the HDD firmware upgrades themselves. If you have either warranty support or a service agreement with them have them come out and do both the VCS and HDD firmware upgrade. You don't mention your Command View version (not the same thing as SMA version). I imagine that will need an update as well.

About Comand View Version I am not sure what exactly is the version . In the HELP of the GUI console, only I can see: Element Manager for Storage Works HSV Application Software Version 3.3 Built 14.. This is de Command View Version ???

Re: Advisores for Upgrading VCS and Command View versions..

Yes - the older versions of Command View were called "Element Manager". What you're running now is a VERY old version. You should get to a 5.x version of Command View at least. 6.x is available, but is still pretty new.
