This was passed to me by my boss, and even though I have no SAN experience, I am expected to give the customer an answer:
We need to mount the MSA1000 on a red hat advanced server. Using the "Cybrary:MSA1000 - How To Install an MSA1000 on Red Hat Linux" we got it installed, but how do I go about mounting the drives so that they are accessible?
Thanks in advance,
Carl

Solution
If you indeed confirmed connectivity to the MSA1000, then you should have created some LUNs along the way.
The LUNs "look" like disks - there are /dev entries for them. You should have at least 1 new one so far....
From here on out - treat them like generic local disk drives. If you're using LVM, create a new volume group with them or add them to an existing volume group, create LVs, and filesystems.
Else, follow the generic directions for adding a disk to Linux.
Good luck,
Vince

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: after MSA1000, how to mount/access drives? *newbie*
Vince - I am also new to Linux and MSA1000 SANs environment. I have setup my MSA controller and the LUNs and all. I've created a RAID5 - Now, I need to mount this RAID5 from my Linux RH AS 3.0 server. Would you please give me step-by-step on how to do this. Thank you in advance.
