BFS on a BL 20p G3

Hi,
Im trying to install OS Win 2003 on the above specified server spec. All drives are located on a EVA 3000. I have followed all the correct pre-installation steps (i.e. Creating host, Vdisk, presenting it to host...) Also all adapter config is done.
I am accessing my blade server via a DL380 server, using iLO. The boot process starts up just fine from CD. I press F6 to install addtional drivers. But when the OS asks for the specified drivers via a floppy, the process goes no further. It stays stuck at the same screen asking for the hardware manufacterers diskette, even though the diskette has the drivers. HBA is Qlogic (QL2312), have tried the drivers from Qlogic homepage as well as HP.
Has anyone experienced such problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thnx

Win2003 should already have the qlogic drivers installed for this to work.

Re: BFS on a BL 20p G3

Well I tried the suggested above and I got an error saying that I had a corrupted hard drive or a problem with boot controller (see attachmnt 1), and then I tried it by installing additional drivers at start of setup and Im stuck at this screen. It does not recognize the A: (see attachmnt 2 ).
Im doing this installation via iLO. I have connected A. via virtual media. A: is not faulty nor is the disk.
I have done this procedure on a DL380 which worked just fine.
Anybody has a clue? Has someone done this procedure via iLO on a Blade 20p G3?

Re: BFS on a BL 20p G3

Sorry pic in the above reply is Attachmnt 2 and the one in this one is attachmnt 1.

Re: BFS on a BL 20p G3

I had more success doing this by using a USB CDROM, keyboard and mouse via the USB dongle that you get supplied with each Blade server.
SAN booting is fiddly enough without virtual devices to worry about.
A good tool to have is a USB hub, as connecting the above devices is impossible without one. The free USB hubs that HP give away at exhibitions work very well!

Re: BFS on a BL 20p G3

I seemed to have solved the issue as to why my drivers from the floppy disk werer not loading. In G3 model the CD and floppy drive should be configured as a "composite device".
Well when problem is solved another one arises! Could someone explain to me what am I doing wrong, as after I accept the license agreement, Im suppose to choose the partition on which I would like to install the OS on, it is here Im seeing to disks! One is recognised as C:Partition(unknown) and the other below it on a different id, is unrecognised. When I go ahead and try to format the c: it gives me the error as in the attachment.

As both CD and Floppy should be connected at booting process to be recognised.
Ignore fault in the post before this as I will post it in a new thread.
