When i configure the ip using ipAddrSet, that will have no impact on the switch? This bocade is in production and i have never attached it to the network.

Philip,
so far I have not seen any impact. You might get negotiation problems if you connect the FC switch to an ethernet switch while the first one is already running. A reboot of the FC switch has fixed that in the past, but you can also try and force another mode (ifModeSet) on the port first.

Solution
Hi Phil
I moved all our switches (22 switches, 2800's, 3800's and 12000's) from the public LAN to our own VLAN (by changing the IP addresses) one at a time and on the fly with no impact to the production systems. The IP is used to telnet to, or web interface with, the switch. If the LAN goes down the Fibre function of the switch is uneffected. Our move took a couple of days as we looked the LAN ports to the IP addresses at the same time, during this time we could lose contact to a switch for up to 2-3 hours, and we had no SAN trouble :-)
