Does Compaq/HP have a proprietary cable that is required to be used when connecting to the rs232 port on the back of the HSG to your laptop? Or will a standard Cisco cable work?

Hi Shawn,
yes there is a cable that ships with the HSG80 Controller (DB9 to RJ11). I don't know the layout of a standard Cisco cable, but I have the pinouts for the Compaq one:
RJ11 9 D-Sub
Pin-1 Pin-4,6,8
Pin-2 Pin-3
Pin-3 Pin-5
Pin-4 Pin-5
Pin-5 Pin-2
Pin-6 Pin-1
Standard serial port settings (9600-8-N-1)
Regards,
Stephen
