Command View EVA

I have CV V6.1 on a Windows Server. HoweverI cannot communicate with the EVA8000.
I have noticed the following in device manager which does not look right to me.
- ? Other devices
? HP HSV210 SCSI Array Device
? HP HSV210 SCSI Array Device
I have another 6 of these.

Also showing is;
- SCSI and RAID controllers
Emulex Lightpulse LP9002, PCI Slot 1, Multi-protocol Port Driver
Emulex Lightpulse LP9002, PCI Slot 1, Multi-protocol Port Driver

When looking at properties on the HSV210 with the ?marks it says the drivers for this device are not installed.
However when looking at properties for the Emulex cards the device is working properly!.

Could this be why I cannot communicate with the EVA using Command View!.

Any ideas ?

Re: Command View EVA

Check that the latest drivers for your fiber cards are installed and also check if they are supported for an EVA8000

Re: Command View EVA

We have a Windows 2000 server with Command View and I see 16 HSV210 controllers for the 2 EVA8000's.

They all have a ? by them and they all state that either no driver is required or is not installed - we can manage both EVA's OK.

As suggested I would check the Support Matrix to ensure all hardware is supported and drivers and firmware are at the required levels.

Re: Command View EVA

If you have dual fc cards in the server you will want to install the multipath software. http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-002&h_lang=en&h_cc=us&h_product=421491&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_page=hpcom〈=en&cc=us

You will also need to install the hp_cpq_router_6.inf.inf This will clear the ? and set the driver. I don't think you can download the driver, but it should be on your CV media. You can also get it from HP Support even if you are not under warranty or support.

I can't see my EVA12000 on a server until I load the driver (the router inf). If you see lots of extra drives once it is loaded then you need to install the multipath software.

Re: Command View EVA

If you just update the HBA drivers using the HBA update package that you can download from HP, it will also install the other "dummy" drivers that are needed to get around the no drivers found for the EVA controllers.
