Currently we have an N-Class(backup server) with a A5158A connecting to a 2800 brocade in fabric mode and two scsi Bridge FC 4/2 connected to the brocade (not in quick loop) connecting our surestore 20/700 to the SAN.
We now have connected three NClass servers with
A3740 FC cards to the brocade to enable san backups. Currently only the Server with the fiber channel in Fabric mode can see the tape drives.
Do I have to setup all the Brocade ports that are connected to the A3740FC cards and the scsi Bridge FC 4/2 to quick loop so that all the servers can see the tape devices?
Also by doing this will this change the tape device file already configured on the server in fabric mode?

Hi Christopher,
yes, if you want to use the A3740 you have to configure FC-AL.
But it's not recommendable for backups because the LIP's possibly will make your backups useless.
Good luck
