Connecting AIX5.3 to a EVA5000

Good day

I am planning to connect a AIX5.3 (running on IBM 570) to a EVA 5000 running VCS 3.025.

What is the supported HBA (to be installed in the IBM 570) and multi-path software to allow for this connection.

Hi,

AIX is not my strong side.
But for multi pathing software you should use:
"Antemeta Multipathing Software Solution for AIX" (358337-B21 if you need the part #)

And supported IBM HBA's are "FC6228,FC6239,FC5716"

And the "HP StorageWorks C2000 FC HBA" (A7539A) should work. The reason I write should is that it p.t only is listed as supporting 4.3.3/5.1 and 5.2.
Normally this only tells you that HP have not certified it yet.

There are two possibiliteies to run AIX on an EVA5000.

1. Using SecurePath and specialized HP/Cambex HBAs. See

2. Using the Antemeta Multipathing Software Solution with original IBM HBAs see
www.compaq.com/products/quickspecs/12121_div/12121_div.HTML

Note that the SecurePath solution does currently not support AIX 5.3. That is expected in 3Q05.

So SecurePath is NOT supported but will (3Q05) be and AntemetA does support AIX5.3 with the IBM 5716 HBA.
