Disabling write cache on Compaq 64Bits/66Mhz HBA for RA4100
Someone know if it's possible to disable the write caching on the Compaq HBA for RA-4100. I'm using Veritas volume manager 3.1 and the tech from Veritas recommand to disable the HBA write caching to correct the Delayed Write Failed that i received occasionally. I don't find any configuration tool or registry parameter for this type of HBA

Re: Disabling write cache on Compaq 64Bits/66Mhz HBA for RA4100
Any HBA configuration for this card can be achieved using the lputilnt.exe utility this HBA is equivalent to an LP9002L.This card doesn't support Write caching though. Write caching parameters can be changed on the array controller by using the array configuration utility. The ratios of read to write cache can be set.

Re: Disabling write cache on Compaq 64Bits/66Mhz HBA for RA4100
I agree with Brown. The cache is not at the HBA level but rather at the controller level. Since the controller is basically a smart array controller converted to fibre, use the ACU to determine if the cache can be disabled on the controller.
