EMC CX600 ClarIIon failover Linux RHEL as3 u5
Greetings all,
We are in a migration from HP/UX to Linux (RHEL). Right now I'm trying to tackle the SAN connectivity. At this moment I've got cases running with both EMC and RedHat, but neither can help me out with the following can give me a definite working procedure for the following configuration :
CX600 with SPA and SPB attached to a Connectrix.
X345 IBM server with 1 LP9802/F2 card attached to the same Connectrix.
Two zones in the fabric, linking the server to both SP's.
I've got Navisphere running fine, I can see the devices for the LUNs (two devices for each LUN). I can install Powerpath (without license, utility kit is sufficient for a 1 fibre card configuration). And from there on the water gets murky. I cannot use the powerpath pseudo-device. This is a known RedHat issue that was supposed to be solved in as3 u5, but "didn't make it". RedHat tells me to wait. EMC is pretty quiet on any failover solution (either with or without powerpath).
So, my question ... has anyone got this working (failover ClarIIon on Linux) ? If yes, how ? Note that I am NOT allowed to recompile the kernel.
Thanks in advance,
Tom Geudens
