Emulex LPe11002 and Secure Path v4.0c-7
G’Day,
We operate a HP VA7400 SAN infrastructure using Brocade switches. We have recently purchased Emulex LPe11002 HBA’s to be able to provide fault tolerant paths to the VA. We are planning to use HP StorageWorks Secure Path v4.0c-7 for multipathing to the VA. Will the Emulex driver for these cards function with this SecurePath software? I have not been able to find an up to date list of supported HBA's for this software. If anyone has any advice on the compatability of these HBA's and Secure Path that would be most appriciated.
Regards
John

Re: Emulex LPe11002 and Secure Path v4.0c-7
John,
Securepath is for EVA arrays.
You need autopath to make VA arrays fault tolerant

Re: Emulex LPe11002 and Secure Path v4.0c-7
G'Day Luk, Thanks for your reply. I was going off the HP specs. I was sure I had bought the correct product. Looks like im gonig to be wearing egg on my face for this one. I did however find this on the SecurePath Spec. Thats why I used this as my reference.
Secure Path v4.0C for Windows supports hosts connected to the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA5000, EVA3000), HP StorageWorks Modular Array 8000 (MA8000)/Enterprise Modular Array 12000 (EMA12000)/Enterprise Modular Array 16000 (EMA16000), RAID Array 8000 (RA8000)/Enterprise Storage Array 12000 (ESA12000), Modular Array 6000 (MA6000) and the Modular Smart Array 1000 storage solutions. This release also supports hosts connected to the StorageWorks XP48/512, XP256, XP128/1024, VA7400/7100, and the VA7410/7110.
We have the following disk array:
A6189A
HP VA7400
Firmware: 38370HP19P1031031142
Software: 01.06.00-0110-021106
As it states at the bottom I was sure that a VA7400/7100 would be us.

Any sugestions would be appriciated.
Cheers
John

Re: Emulex LPe11002 and Secure Path v4.0c-7
John, Looks like Secure path is supported with versions 4.0C SP1 and 4.0C SP2-1. Unless that HBA maps to one of the following HP versions then it is not on the supported list for a VA7400 on Windows 2000 or 2003.
FCA2404
FCA2404DC
FCA2408
FCA-2355
Emulex LP8000, LP9002L, 952L
These are all old Emulex HBA's that you can still buy on the refurb market.
Good Luck.
