Hi,
We have Vdisks that are using CA to replicate to a remote EVA 8K synchronoulsy. On any VDISKS that are members of a DR Group I do NOT get the option to create MirrorClones. On non replicated VDISKS I do get the MirrorClone Option.
Is this a known limitation of MirrorClones. I can't find it documented anywhere.
Thanks,
Vincent

Re: EVA 8K XCS 6.0 MirrorClone and Continuous Access
OK I've found the details in the EVA admin Guide
Mirrorclone guidelines
Follow these guidelines for using mirrorclones:
o The array must have a local replication license.
o A mirrorclone can be in a different disk group than the source. For optimum protection from hardware failures, HP recommends creating a mirrorclone in a different disk group than the source. (A mirrorclone is created in the same disk group as its source, unless specified otherwise.)
o The redundancy (Vraid) level of a mirrorclone can be the same, lower, or higher than the source.
o The maximum number of mirrorclones per source is one.
o A mirrorclone cannot be a member of (added to) a DR group.
o A detached mirrorclone cannot be reattached to its source.
A mirrorclone cannot be created if the intended source virtual disk is:
o A snapshot or has any snapshots.
o Has any snapclones that are in the process of being normalized.
o A member of a DR group. Further, when a virtual disk becomes the source of a mirrorclone, that source virtual disk cannot be added to a DR group later.

Solution
In short, a mirrorclone can not be a member of a DR group nor can a vdisk become a member of a DR Group if it has a mirrorclone.
