how to merge two switch configuration
I request excuses because my English is not very correct
i'd like to know if it's possible to merge two configurations, with one Fabric in each one, within two San switch 4/16 , in a only configuration , and how i can to do it.
how long it takes for enable configuration into the san switch?
it's possible to do it with servers in production.
thanks

Re: how to merge two switch configuration
you must change the domain id of one of your switches. You can't merge switches if the both have zoning. You must remove the zoning from the switch with the lowest domain-id before you can merge them.
If you change your domain-id you the HW path to your servers also change. So a downtime is really necessary

Re: how to merge two switch configuration
Skip steps B4/B5 (page 8)and the the C-Series section if you are running B-Series switches. If both switches are the same series, then interop mode is not necessary.

Re: how to merge two switch configuration
it will explain to me
I have several hosts with hba dual channel, two evas with two switchs each one, EVA1 S1, S2, EVA2 S3, S4.
S1 and S3 are within fabric1 with their configuration their zones and their alias and S2 and S4 in another one fabric2 with their configuration their zones and their alias.
of S2 it hangs a MSL6000 to do backup and fabric1 must accede to this MSL to do backup by san.
My question is if I one switchs S1 and S2, S3 and S4, will make a ring with them
will they transfer the zones and the alias of each fabric to all switchs?
thanks
