Hello All,
I was wondering if any one has an how-to or has done an online enclosure addition in a EVA4100.
My problem is that I have an EVA4100 on production and I must add a new full enclosure to this system.
Does anyone have informations about this? Have done this before?
Waiting for any information.
Brgds

Solutiontake a look at the attached document. I've done this, according to the document, successfull. But two onsite engineers of HP told me not to do it this way. :) It will work, but it's risky. It's easier if you have loop switches (EVA6x00 and above).
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: EVA4100 Online Enclosure Addition
I know that for EVA6x000 and EVA8x000 we don't have any problems, cause they have loop switches as you said. I'll take a look at the attachment.
Guess that doing this off production is the safest way.

Re: EVA4100 Online Enclosure Addition
But if it was dangerous HP would not have published an online upgrade installation instruction.
If you respect the following note in the document you are on the safe side:
HP highly recommends that you perform this upgrade procedure during off-peak hours.
Cheers
Pete
