Hi all
Im looking at a move from the EVA5000 to EVA8000.
Is there any documentation available that can help in terms of outlining the differences between the EVA5000 and EVA8000?
thanks
Craig

Solution
Hi Craig,
Check this websites
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/eva/index.html
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/softwaredrivers/enterprise/index.html
It is also important to know that your eva5000 has a VCS software that is ready to migrate to EVA8000. You must check all the software and drivers in the release notes for the VCS software. It is a complex operation that has to be executed with care.
We are preparing an upgrade from a EVA3000 to an EVA6000

Re: EVA5000 to EVA8000
You don't mention what your environment is ie windows, hpux, etc.
I am just completing the addition of a eva8k into 2 separate eva5k sans with HPUX. In some regards, these are completely different beasts but still so similiar.

Re: EVA5000 to EVA8000
Hi Craig,
Upgrading from an EVA3000 or EVA5000 requires the replacement of the controllers, loop switches and possibly I/O modules and EMUs. Also upgrade licences for CommandView, BussinessCopy, ContinuousAceess are required.
Contact your HP sales representative for more information or your HP Service representative for an upgrade assessment.
