Firmware - Brocade/HP Silkworm 200

Hi,

I've got some HP Branded Fibre Switches, which are the brocade silkworm 200 I beleive. Im currently on firmware version 6.2.0g.

Can anyone tell me where I can get the latest firmware from?

You need to know, which exactly models you have. Firmwares for HP B-Series switches are available from

Ive logged into the switch

Just says SLKWRM 200 im not sure what the HP branding name is.

silkworm 200 is normally a 4gb switch and the above one should work

From the 4Gb switches and on (around the beginning of 5.x f/w rev), Brocade went to a monolithic firmware set instead of a single targetted image.

It means that the download is larger, but the switch will figure out which f/w set it needs, so one firmware will fit them all (so to speak). It also meant that instead of looking like an appliance, you can see it runs a version of Linux and which packages
it installs.

So the short answer is, it really doesn't matter, pick the family (4Gb, 8Gb, etc.) and you'll get the right one. After you untar it, you should be able to check if your silkworm series is in there.

Yeup, if you do a switchshow you will see the switchtype.

Then untar the firmware file, in there you will have directories.

SWDBxx - where XX would be your switch type.

Doesn't have OEM names though ;)

I think the 200 is a 4/8 or 4/16 in HP language.
