How to capture/restore EMA12000 (HSG8) configuration
How can I capture (and later restore in DR situation) the configuration of a EMA12000 array with 2 HSG80 controllers?
Similarly to the SSSU command "CAPTURE CONFIGURATION" for the EVA5000.
Currently our EMA12000s are configured and monitored via a SMA running Command View version 3. I have a quick look at the Command Scripter version 1.0A guide for HSG80 but it doesn't have that feature. And the HSG80 User Guide advises that the commands "CONFIGURATION SAVE" and "CONFIGURATION RESTORE" should not be used in a dual redundant environment.
The same questions for the HSZ70 and HSZ80-based arrays.
I am thinking of writing scripts to parse the output of "SHOW DEV FULL", "SHOW UNIT FULL", etc ... and reverse engineering back to commands like "ADD DISK", "ADD RAIDSET", "ADD UNIT", ....
It might be error-prone, specially dealing with multiple arrays and different type of controllers.
TIA,
Zoong Pham

Hi,
I think, the idea with the scripts is the ways to go.
greetings,
Michael
