HSG80 CLI Error

When running "show unit full", get pop-up error: Error - Possible communication loss with subsystem.

Other commands run fine. Closing and reopening CLI does not help.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: HSG80 CLI Error

Jim,

wow, that's a new one to me. I have a couple of questions. Do you have any ACL's on the unit? Which connections are specified for it? When you do a 'show connections' command, are any connections offline or are there connections you don't know about?

Re: HSG80 CLI Error

Spike,

Thanks for the reply. There are no ACLs setup that I'm aware of and no connections we don't know about. All of the following commands work fine:

show this
show other
show connections full
show storage full
show unit

It's just when I do show unit full that I get the pop-up error.

On our other subsystem, the show unit full command works properly.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: HSG80 CLI Error

I take it you are using an appliance to access the HSG80??

If you are have you tried the same command from the HSG direct??

Re: HSG80 CLI Error

Jim,

I'll be on vacation next week, but if the problem persists, could you please send me the output of the commands? Have you called HP/Compaq? If you're getting this problem, I'm sure someone else has gotten it and even worse, we'll all get it sooner or later and I want to get a solution.

Re: HSG80 CLI Error

It is possible that one of the units has an error that needs clearing.
Have a look at the CLI command

Re: HSG80 CLI Error

Thanks for the suggestions. I was waiting until we upgraded to ACS 8.71 and see if we still get the errors. We upgraded last night and still get the error on the one command.

We tried both the bottom and top controller, directly connect via hyperterm or via CLI, both via serial connections from an NT box.

There are no uncleared errors on the CLI. I'll update this if I find out anything. I have spoken to HP/Compaq about it, but not a formal case.
