HSG80 OCP error display
Ok now this is quite odd. I had a controller hang earlier with a Solid OCP display code, which was "nlllmlm". The connections had all failed over no problem. The code translates as:
"An Unexpected NMI occured during Last Failure processing. Last Failure Processing interrupted by a Non-Maskable Interurrupt (NMI)"
And advises to "Replace Controller"
Well now, a couple of hours later the controller has returned to normal with no outside intervention, and the error state has cleared! How can this be? It seems odd that from a Replace Controller error that it can jsut rectify itself!

Re: HSG80 OCP error display
I have since discovered that someone actually reset the controller - after which it returned to normal configuration. Is it advisable to still replace it, if not why does the Guide recommend replacement for this error instead of just reset?

Re: HSG80 OCP error display
By re-booting the controller, you have cleared the "error state" Kinda like powering off a PC that is heat sensitive. It will mask the problem for a while, but it will eventually come back!
If you have a support contract for your storage, I would log a call and get this replaced before you have any more problems with it.
My storage TAM is usually asking for output of the following CLI commands when I log this type of service request.
RUN FMU
SHO TIME
SHO LAST MOST
SHO LAST ALL
SHO MEM
EXIT
