What is the max amount of disks that can be installed on a D270 and a K460? And what would the max size be? And how many would we be limited to if we added additional external drives. thanks so much....in advance.

Solution
It depends. For D270 you can have max 2 disks (FWD or SE, depends on server configuration). If you see black disks in the front with 'DF' pink label then they're FWD hotswap disks.
For K-class you can have max 4 internal FWD disks.
As to external - you can connect as many you want, but considering SCSI bus limits (cable lenght and SCSI Id availability) and perfomance factors (as many devices added as slower bus can be). Also remember about SCSI Ids priority: highest 7..0, 15..8 lowest. Thus if SCSI bus will be heavily loaded then drives with lower priority may experience problems gaining a bus (you may see 'powerfailed' messages in syslog).
Max drives size to my knowledge is 36GB

Re: Max Disk
I've seen 72GB disks in some servers, however, this would really depend on the server f/w. I know for sure that I needed prom upgrades to support the 72G drives.
