Hi:
We have an MA8000 system with two HSG80 conected to 2 switches Brocade in one fabric. The controllers are configured in transparent failover mode and fimware 8-6F. Our servers are NT and W2000.
We are planning to migrate our systems to W2003, so we have to upgrade the firmware of HSG to at least 8-7.1F, and the transparent failover mode is not supported with w2003.
We think to configure Multiple-bus failover mode in the controllers, configure two fabrics in the switches and use the MPIO software w2003 instead of Secure Path in the servers and cluster all the services. Is supported MPIO with MA8000? It this works? I can't find de DSM software for the MPIO of HSG controllers, I only have found the DSM to MSA, EVA and XP systems. Can I use the EVA DSM with the MA8000?. Any one have tried this? any recomendations or any interest information about this migration, any point to take care?
Is very important to use to know if this possible.
Thanks.
Manuel

Solution
I believe there is no MPIO driver for the HSG80, HP consider the HSG80 end of life so they are not doing any more developemnt work on it....
looks like you will have to continue using secure path
spoke to a MPIO guy at HP a few weeks ago and it looks like they are going to continue with this product and gradualy phase out secure path, new release of MPIO will be much more advanced offering a GUI and advanced settings.
Hope this helps
Andy

Re: MPIO (w2003) and MA8000
Andy is correct - there will be no MPIO support for HSG80. And you cannot use the DSM for EVA, so your only option is to use SecurePath.
Thanks,
Doug
