msa 1000 firmware upgrade on openvms
Can some one tell me the procedure to upgrade firmware on an MSA1000 usinf msa_util.
I need the commands to connect etc
Also can I access the msa while the sys is up.

Try here for an upgrade guide;

In my experience you don't want the OpenVMS to have any of the LUN's presented by the MSA mounted.
MSA_UTIL is a bit rough around the edges, but does the job of flashing the firmware OK. I which HP would spend some time making this tool slightly better, for instance not all the CLI commands are supported at present. I know the tool lives in SYS$ETC (unsupported area), but it would be nice if it could be made more useful.
