MSA1000 disk reorganization

Hi,

My configuration is:
1 MSA1000 and 1 MSA30 Dual BUS

I have to Add 1 MSA30

final configuration:
1 MSA1000 and 2 MSA30 Single BUS

My question: Can I move my disk from the second BUS of my MSA30 (original configuration) to my first bus of my 2nd MSA30 (new config). You can see an example below:

5 Data Disk(s) used by lun 0:
Disk101: Box 1, Bay 01,(SCSI bus 0, SCSI id 0)
Disk102: Box 1, Bay 02,(SCSI bus 0, SCSI id 1)
Disk108: Box 1, Bay 08,(SCSI bus 1, SCSI id 0)
Disk201: Box 2, Bay 01,(SCSI bus 2, SCSI id 0)
Disk208: Box 2, Bay 08,(SCSI bus 3, SCSI id 0)

typically: I have to move Disk208 in my new MSA30. Wat's hapen when I reinstall disc208 in the 2nd MSA300 (I respect BUS Number and SCSI ID). the disc will be Disk301: Box 3, Bay 01

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Regards,
Dominique

Re: MSA1000 disk reorganization

Dominique,

This should not be a problem. But with anything in life, things can go wrong, always have a fresh backup.

Just make sure you have powered everything done, including the MSA30 shelf.
