MSA1000 low performance
MSA1000 connected to a cluster of DL580G3, running Windows 2003 Enterprise SP1 and SQL Server 2000. HBAs are A7388A (PCI-X 64 BIT 133MHZ 2GB FOR WINDOWS).
3 Arrays (2 RAID1, 1 RAID5 for Database) of 15K Ultra320 Disks.
The backup time on our Ultrium 960 tape takes 4 to 5 hours for a 270GB DB (less than 19 MB/sec)
I tested the estimated read time with PAT and it returns an average of 10MB/sec, which is too low.
I read many people are complaining about the same problem. I attach the Show Tech_Support output. Please advise

Re: MSA1000 low performance
Your disks appear to be showing as 160Mb, not Ultra320 ?
Also noticed your connection profiles are showing as 'Default', 'Windows' would be better in your instance.

Re: MSA1000 low performance
Since everything was installed by default, how could it be that the disk speed is showing 160 instead of 320?
I confirm that the disks are all Ultra320 15K.
How am I supposed to change the disk speed?
And the profile?
Thanks!

Re: MSA1000 low performance
If I understand it correctly the MSA1000 only supports 160MB/sec on its backplane (Wide Ultra 3 SCSI) so maybe this is normal?
What about the profile? How does it relate to performance?
