I was wondering if anyone can point me towards any documentation on how to present MSA1000 LUNs to a VMS box. I have created 8 logical disks but when we go to pick them up on the VMS side, it does not see them. I vaguely recall that unit ids are involved. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
Hi Marcus,
Yes, unit IDs are compulsory for VMS LUNs.
Take a look at the CLI reference guide here:
http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01183955/c01183955.pdf
On page 28:
set unit_id <#>
Command options
#├в the number of the LUN that is being assigned a name.
identifier├в name or number to assign to the specified LUN. The ID can be up to 230 alphanumeric characters or a decimal number in the range of 0 though 65535. If spaces are included in the name, quotation marks are required.
The hosts on the MSA1000 also need to be correctly set to OpenVMS - see page 40.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob

Re: MSA1000 Presenting LUNs to VMS
While the text says 65535, I would not go higher than 9999:
