MSA1000 Secure Path 4.0c
Hi. Am a First timer.
Bit of background to my SAN
2 x ML370 G3 Win2K Adv server Sp3 with MCSC (active-passive config).with 2 x FCA2101 single port HBAs in each.
2 x Fibre Ch San switches 2/8EL (external)
1 x MAS1000
The configuration uses Secure Path software.
I have a new MSA30 DB u320 that I am wanting to attach to MSA1000.
Over the weekend I update the drivers on each server with PSP 7.4 and firware with FW maint CD 7.4. (Off the topic slightly. To enable the FW cd to load correctly I have to remove both HBAs from the server. Same with 7.3 cd also)
I also used the LPutil to update the HBA firware to 3.93a using the r393a0.awc file.
All this went smoothly and was I about to update fibre switches when I thought i'd use SIM to check out Secure Path.
(I still need to update MSA1000 to Fw 4.82 to allow MSA30 DB connection.)
Within the 'Sys Management Homepage' of the active server the link to Secure Path was missing. Within SIM under the same server, the
'Management Module appntucpqsecurepath' link returns a File not found HTTP 404 error.
It seems SecPath has gone. It is loaded on both Cluster nodes and is visiable within its inital install path and Add/remove Programs.
Has anyone any ideas on what might have happened to the link. Could it have been the new Management Agents have caused this?
Thought I'd done all my homework on this upgrade. Perhaps not.
Do I need to do a reinstall?
Noticed there's a SP2 for secure path but seems to have no enhancements for my config.
Sorry for the length of this posting.
Thanks
AR

Re: MSA1000 Secure Path 4.0c
The latest system management homepage uses a different authentication mechanism and you need Secure Path Manager V4.0C SP2 to cope with this.

Re: MSA1000 Secure Path 4.0c
Thanks Uwe.
SPath was originally installed by HP.
I have found the install/upgrade manual and have attached an insert from it that I think I will need to follow.
Could you be kind enough to confirm a few points for me? They are on the doc I've attached. I'm booting the OS from a local partition and not from the SAN.
Is Secure Path manager installed after SPath Wgroup edition has been successfully installed?
I'm not wanting to upgrade the OS to 2003 as yet.
Thanks
Alan
