SAN16 Performance
I am running a small SAN with about 10 servers, 5 of which have 2gb redundant paths through 2 switches to an MSA1000, 2 servers on 1gb via one switch to RA4100 and 3 servers on 1gb via the other switch to an RA4100. This is a configuration that works OK.
However I am monitoring performance via the switches and the stats that they are providing would suggest very poor performance. I also tried performing Disk-to-Disk backups and experienced very bad performance. Backup to tape was giving me 1GB/min, but backup to disk was giving me 1GB/hour.
I am in need of assistance, can anybody help me get a clearer idea of what is going on here...
Many Thanks
Andrew

Re: SAN16 Performance
Do you mean on the servers...? If so the answer is no. I have attached a copy of the performance stats provided by the switch, hopefully you are in a position to help.
As you can see from the stats the figures shown are about at their peak, which seems to be far smaller than I would have expected. I'm beginning to think that maybe my expectations are wrong, in which case please correct me.
Have you come across any useful resources that I can use to help me in my quest...?
Many Thanks
Andrew

Re: SAN16 Performance
I am in a position to help you.
I will need more information about you configuration.
For instance,
OS
HBA
Backup App.
If you have time the tech support from CLI or a description on how your MSA drives are carved.
