Secure Path 4.0c blue screen Win2K cluster servers
Currently have two sets of Windows 2000 clusters connected to EMA16000 through FC switch. Running W2k SP4 and all MS patches, Secure Path 3.1, 8.6 platform kit, 8.6-13 HSG80 firmware. Flashed HBAs (2 in each server) to current firmware version, loaded 8.7 platform kit, upgraded to secure path 4.0, upgrade to secure path 4.0c, then blue screen. No specific BSOD error. This happens on all 4 servers (thank you V2I), 2 DL580s and 2 DL380s running MSCS. HP agents are at 7.0. Need to upgrade servers is a pre-requisite upgrading SAN to 8.7 firmware.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: Secure Path 4.0c blue screen Win2K cluster servers
Do you have the latest Fibre HBA drivers? The 8.7 platformkit is somewhat old now and probably does not have the newest drivers for your hba. Secure Path can be picky at times. Let me know if this helps.

Re: Secure Path 4.0c blue screen Win2K cluster servers
I guess you get a stop 0x0000007b error?
First de-install secure path 3.1 through control panel- add/remove programs...
If this is not possible, remove sec path entries in the registry under local machine - software- .... also remove program directory.
Then REBOOT!!!! (if not you get the blue screen) remove fibers
Install secure path 4.0 - reboot - secure path 4.0c
Good luck.
(you can recover from the blue screen through the last known good option)

Re: Secure Path 4.0c blue screen Win2K cluster servers
We ran into this same issue the other day with Secure path 4.0c and got the same hex error mentioned in the post on 2000 Server SP4. We tried removing the hba, rebooting to last know good configuration, safe mode, and not in that order :). The drivers were talking just fine to the san fabric. Secure path got about 92% installed and launched this dos window that said loading filrd.ini I think and hung. After the reboot it was all toast.
Does anyone know Secure Path does this to the interal disk based OS?
**Also more importantly does anyoneknow how ot fix this without a flatten and reload.
For a rather expensive pay for product I would expect that it at least not toast your operating system LOL, but maybee thats to much to ask.
Thanks
