I need to correct the Host Mode under Selective Storage Presentation within two MSA1500cs devices. My question is what the effects will be on a production environment of changing the Host Mode from Default to Windows. Will the MSA need to be power cycled for the change to take effect? If not, will the Windows hosts lose connectivity during the commitment of the Host Mode change?
I'd love to be able to just change the Host Mode to Windows, click Save, and not have any noticable impact on the hosts in question. Is this the case?

Re: Selective Storage Presentation Host Mode
Hi,
yes it is the case, but it should be done safely by stopping the host IO and then changing the host mode...

Re: Selective Storage Presentation Host Mode
Thanks for the reply.
I am still eager for additional details, because in the same sentence you agree that I can make the Host Mode change without any noticable impact on production systems, but that I should quiesce those systems prior to the change in order to be safe. That implies risk in committing the change during business hours (in our case, 24 hours a day).
I'm willing to follow your advice, but that does mean we'll have to schedule a maintenance period, which is what I wanted to avoid.
Jason
