spmgr Error: This host is not authorized to connect to remote host

"spmgr display" used to work, but after a recent reboot, I am getting the message:

Server: habs.na.mycompany.com Report Created: Tue, Mar 08 17:52:45 2005
Command: spmgr display
Error: This host is not authorized to connect to remote host.

This is an rp3440, dual CPU amd 6GB RAM.
Dual Tachyon FC cards connected to an EVA3K SAN.

I have used "spmgr client add" and added localhost and the full servername, but no success.

Another forum post said to use the "spinit restart" command, but this "restart" option is not available on my server. I only have stop|start, and have tried to no avail.

The SAN is still attached and working, but I would like to monitor the Load Balancing funtion setting.

Any help is appreciated!

Re: spmgr Error: This host is not authorized to connect to remote host

I have resolved the issue.

The DNS name resolution files (nsswitch.conf and resolv.conf) was disabled.
After fixing that, all is working again.

Re: spmgr Error: This host is not authorized to connect to remote host

Hi Jeff

Can you tell me exactly how have you solved it? I cannot understand you by saying enabling the DNS resolution files.

I am having exactly that same error on a particular Solaris box. The only difference between this box and the other boxes I have installed is that this one is connected to a domain.

thanks
