Two MPIO on the same server
We want to connect EVA5000 and MSA1000
to the same server (MS Cluster).
Can MPIO work together?
How to install them properly on the same server?
I installed first MPIO DSM for EVA and then
for MSA1000. It is right?

Re: Two MPIO on the same server
You can install both versions of MPIO - advanced version first and basic later should work fine.
If you are keen to win, you should be willing to lose.

Re: Two MPIO on the same server
Following the SAN design reference guide http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00403562/c00403562.pdf page 144.
footnote 1 (secure path only no MPIO at all)I've the same problem at a customer site and didn't get an answer from HP yet. In the readme of the MSA basic failover MPIO driver V1.3 is clearly stated this driver will co-exist with the full-featured MPIO if EVA5K VCS >= 4.xxx (active/active) Maybe an HP representive has the answer.
regards Erich

Re: Two MPIO on the same server
After reading Erich's message i downloaded MPIO basic v.1.30 (which co-exist with FF). During install it said that MPIO framework already installed and only DSM will be installed.
May be it's not neccesary, but I've create LUNs on MSA1000 through serial cable in order to use "big" LUN numbers, that different from LUNs on EVA5000. Of course, more easy way to present another LUN numbers in CV EVA.
I've tested configuration. Completed some "crash" tests: disconnecting active controller on MSA while copying files, disconnecting HBA(active path) from server while copying files.
All works fine.
In addition: this is 2-node MS cluster with Boot From SAN (from EVA5000).
