EDF Development Environment & EEP

Please could I get some feedback on the following:

  1. Does the environment include EEP by default.? The documentation suggests no but I wanted to check anyway.
  2. Can you use any supported EEP components with the development environment?
  3. Is there any guidance available for using EEP with the development environment?

I am working with an ISV partner to build a test environment to support a customer migration to EDF 7..2 and EEP 9.2.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Re: EDF Development Environment & EEP

When you say "EDF Development Environment" I assume you're referring to the Docker container deployment of a single-node cluster described here:

https://docs.ezmeral.hpe.com/datafabric-customer-managed/72/MapRContainerDevelopers/MapRContainerDevelopersOverview.html

That is the 7.2 version of the doc, which seems to be the version you're wanting to deploy.  Looking at that page, it lists the componenets included in the Docker container:

The Data Fabric cluster created by the Docker image includes the following components:

Based on the versions of Drill and Spark included in that Docker image, I'd conclude they align with EEP 9.1.0:

https://docs.ezmeral.hpe.com/datafabric-customer-managed/72/InteropMatrix/r_EEP_9.1.0_OS_support.html

If you need to deploy a very specific version of EDF and EEP for a POC, you might be better off deploying a single-node cluster using the Installer, as that method lets you select which Core version, which EEP version, and which EEP components to deploy.
