Force to "Select" option in dependent dropdown while changing the main dropdown

While changing a dropdown value in a Catalog it defaults the value of the dependent dropdown to a non-zero value but instead I need to force it to use “Select” option so that we can manually choose other items from the dependent dropdown. Note: In my case the dependent dropdown is dynamically generated.

It’s hard to say (perhaps you could add some screenshots of the relevant settings) but i would first check the dependent input does not have a default value set. If you have a translation script on the option list behind the dependent input, check the filtering is producing the results you expect.

Using forms, be sure you don’t have ‘Remove “Select” Option’ checked. If using a standard Input, ensure ‘Remove No Selection’ is unchecked. Otherwise it will not appear in your list.

Also,confirm no default as @Ollie_Phillips stated.
