Convert to managed - IP address still left unused in network pool

Hello,

We have existing VMware vSphere 8 environment with few /24 networks + v8.0.9 trial.

When VM is converted to managed the IP address it has is not updated on network pool
where it is still left available and not marked as used like when provisioning.

VM is on the correct dvportgroup in VMware and  Morpheus has network pool IP range configured.

When new instance is provisioned Morpheus takes IP address from the configured range / pool as it should.

Somehow converting to managed does not update the addresses in the network pool as used.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Have a great day!

Re: Convert to managed - IP address still left unused in network pool

Hello @jaskaakki

As far my understanding, this is an expected results. The Network pool will be used, when you are using the HVM network infrastucture.  Here, you are actually using network infrastructure of vCenter cluster while managing the a VM on vmware vCenter cloud.

If the VM is migrated from vmware cloud to VME HVM cluster, this might use the network pool depending on configuration.

So Just simply making a vmware VM converting to managed, would not use HVM infra resource, hence will not update the pool.
You may need to manually the update  pool 'IP address as used' by adding the host record details..

I hope this helps!
