Using Veeam Agents with HPE VM Essentials

Hi all,

For environments running HPE VM Essentials, it is important to note that Veeam Agents can be used as an alternative or complementary data protection approach.

Using Veeam Agents (Windows and Linux) allows:

  • Application-aware backups

  • Granular recovery options

  • Flexibility for physical workloads and specific VM scenarios

  • Protection independent of hypervisor-level integration

This can be particularly relevant in scenarios where agent-based backup provides better control over workload-level protection policies.
