Zerto integration and migrations from VMware to HVM
Hello All,
Can anyone tell me if Zerto integration with HVM will allow us to migrate VMs in bulk from VMware to HVM? While we are testing the 'Migrations' tool in the HVM Manager, it does require a lot of downtime to power down the source VM, create the OVF and move it across to HVM. Not including the driver installation and removal of the VMware Tools which is time consuming as well.
My understanding is that zerto will be available for HVM by the end of 2025? Can anyone confirm this? Is there any beta testing that we can look at?
Regards,
A.

Re: Zerto integration and migrations from VMware to HVM
Hi @AnthonyLyons
As of now, there is no official confirmation from Zerto or HPE that Zerto will support HPE Hypervisor Manager (HVM) for bulk VM migrations from VMware by the end of 2025. It does not currently list HVM as a supported platform in its Interoperability Matrix.
However, Zerto has been expanding its ecosystem, especially under HPE ownership, so integration with HVM is possible in the future.
I recommend engaging both Zerto and HPE support teams to see if they have any updates on HVM support or beta testing opportunities and see if there are any alternative migration tools or options available.
Regards,
Sanika

Re: Zerto integration and migrations from VMware to HVM
Both are HPE products. Surely it makes perfect sense that Zerto would support HVM for DR and migrations.?!?!?

Re: Zerto integration and migrations from VMware to HVM
What I'm being told is that Zerto may be supporting HVM in Q4 next year!?! Which is very disappointing to hear.

There's fresh news from today on HPE's hybrid cloud announcements at Discover Barcelona. HPE Zerto Software support for HVM is slated for availability in January 2026.

That's good to hear. It makes Morpheus/HVM a viable solution for me now.
