HPE nimbe HF40 expansion shelf

Hi - One of my clients have HPE HF-40 Nimble arrays and planning to add expansion shelf. Does HPE allows to progressively add disks in the expansion shelf rather than fully populating the shelf?

Hi,

As part of Nimble's commitment to being the most simple & efficent block storage platform, it's not possible to scale an expansion shelf with a small number of drives, as this would be less efficient, and less simple to manage.

Each expansion shelf comes fully populated, with a proprietary Triple+ Parity RAID deployed ontop. The drives do not need to be the same size as the head shelf.
