HPE OneView Remote backup creates a 0 byte additional file
Hi,
I enabled HPE Oneview remote backups. So basically it scp backup file to a remote server locations.
However i can see there is a additional 0 byte file is created at the backup location in addition to the backup file.
-rw-r--r-- 1 backup other 0 Jul 6 12:03 BACKUP_TEST_FILE.bkp
-rw-r--r-- 1 backup other 22M Jul 6 12:03 SERVER_Name_backup_2023-07-06_110235.bkp
This is a daily backup. I have tried a applicance restart but no luck.
My OneView version is 8.10.00-0472141
Many Thanks
Mili

Re: HPE OneView Remote backup creates a 0 byte additional file
If you are asking about the BACKUP_TEST_FILE.bkp, you can safely delete it. It should have been deleted upon first configuring the remote backup location. Removing the 0-byte file will not break the remote backup feature.

Re: HPE OneView Remote backup creates a 0 byte additional file
Thanks yes i know. I think the issue was when I saw the test file I edited the backup schedule & it creates another test file on the next run as its thinks its the first run! I cannot have 0 byte files in the directory (a script is picking those up & alert).
I just need to make sure I dont edit again then should be ok
Thanks
