multipe OV instances in different regions in one vCenter with vLCM?
I heard now many times that OV is not desigend to work outside a local datacenter. What options are there with OV? We have hosts and clusters around the world, sometimes just single hosts. I could deploy OV instances at some central locations, but it's not clear to me if I can add them to vLCM and use the OV instance as HSM in my images based on location?

Although I don't want to sound like a marketing guy; if your server iLO can connect to HPE's cloud over the internet you should seriously consider researching our HPE GreenLake Compute Ops Management cloud console-- it can do health, monitoring, firmware update, support cases all for remote offices. It really is quite robust and well designed. The feature set does not match an on-prem mature solution like HPE OneView yet; but it is definitely worth reading up about.
..and there's a free trial too. https://www.hpe.com/us/en/hpe-greenlake-compute-ops-management.html

...and yes, there is a parallel integration like our vCenter plugin that also works with HPE GreenLake Compute Ops Management.

HPE's marketing guys already tried to sell it. But direct connection of ILOs to the cloud is currently an issue here. And we already spent a lot time in OV. As you do not mention a solution for OV, I assume that there is none?

Re: multipe OV instances in different regions in one vCenter with vLCM?
HPE OneView's design center is on-prem within datacenter. Right, there's no "solution" except that we have countless customers who have taken the risk upon themselves and provide reasonable bandwidth and low-latency links, so it works as if it were the same datacenter without issue.
Latency is the killer; depending on the server generation and other versions anything higher than 30-40ms eventually causes firmware updates to fail.

Re: multipe OV instances in different regions in one vCenter with vLCM?
Too bad, it seems that I can add multipe OV instance in the vLCM HSM section in vSphere client. But before I try this I need to know if this can be used in the images. It's really a pitty that OV does not work in this setup. For getting this to work we would then need differen vCenters + OVs in each region. And we just consolidated 3 vCenters into one.
