Oneview Configuration Best Practice and Recommended process
- Deploy HPE Oneview Appliance
- Login to Oneview using Default Credentials : Username : Administrator, Password : admin and change the Password.
- Set HPE Oneview Appliance Networking-(if DNS Hostname is provided please make sure the host record is already created in DNS Server to avoid warnings)
- Set the Cryptography and security settings
- Configure Active Directory services(Optional)
- Add any HPE Oneview Licenses to the Appliacne
- Add the required SPP Firmware bundle which is used to update firmware or Drivers of the hardware components.
- Add SAN Managers if Automatic Zoning is being configured.
- Add Storage Systems if any Storage systems which is managed by HPE Oneview Appliance
- Add Hypervisor Managers(vCenter)
- Create all the Networks which are used in the configuration.
- Create a new LIG and Map the networks with the Uplink set to the respective Virtual connect modules in LIG(Logical Interconnect Group)
- Create an Enclosure Group and assign the required LIG for the respective Interconnect Bay.
- Add Enclosure as a managed enclosure to the Enclosure group(if new enclosure or non VC Domain Enclosure)
- Check if all the components in the physical hardware is detected by Oneview or check for any configuration related or Hardware related errors and fix them
- Create server profiles and assign the server profiles to the respective server hardware
- once completed create Scopes and assign the users to scope
