OneView update to 4.10.01 failed

Hello All,

 

we are trying to upgrade our OneView Appliance to 4.10.01, however it failed:

 

Client Certificate Generation.

Issue Update operation failed while starting services.

We wanted to od the upgrade in two steps:

The Version which was used was 3.10.08.

In the first step we updated to 3.10.10, this worked wihout any issues.

The second step was to upgrade to 4.10.01 this failed.

Any ideas hints?

Looks like the update failed but the appliance reliably reverted to a stable 3.10.10 state from what you have described below.

Have you opened a support case with the support dump (that includes the update logs with the details of the failure)? Will help in figuring out what has happened. If not, you may want to.

Yes I have an open case for that - however in the moment it looks like there are no real ideas how to get this solved.

I will wish you the best of luck.  We have yet had any upgrade to OneView frimware or software go without multiple failures.

Every upgrade seems to be riddled with as many or more issues than the previous versions.

Upgrading from 3.10 to 4.10 is too big a jump for OneView version upgrade. 

My suggestion is to upgrade to 4.00 first before attempting to upgrade to 4.10.

I had an issue with a v3 appliance where the update was rolled back but the appliance wouldn't update as it was in a maintenance state and needed a remote session with a tech to manually disable this state.

The install guide says that this upgrade should work but maybe its something else.  I'd probably update in smaller steps bit if it doesn't work then the appliance might need someone to look at its backend.
