Restore OneView from one subnet to another

Hi!

Must "move" a virtual appliance OneView from one place to another that has different subnets.

Has installed a new OneView in the other place and configured with a new IP address.

Wondering if you can do restore on a OneView that has a different IP address than the original.
I know that IP config will not be restored.
But are there references to the old IP address in the backup?

Query: Restore OneView from one subnet to another

System recommended content:

1. Can I migrate a SUBNET from one LNP (Logical Network Partition) to another one?

2. Can TCP/IP Route Packets from one Subnet to Another?

Re: Restore OneView from one subnet to another

Please review the documentation where we document the procedures needed to restore from backup here, and the best practices to restoring an appliance from backup here.

The short answer is yes, you can. You must build a new appliance, complete first-time setup (just like you have already), then restore the backup file to the new appliance.  Do know that the replacement appliance must be of the same version and appliance type.  This is documented in the links I provided you.

An alternative method you could have done is since the appliance is a VM, just mov the virtual disk file to the new host (if that is necessary) and connect the vNIC to the appropriate new network.  Then using the hypervisor KVM console, you could then change the IP address of the appliance.  Once that is done, a refresh of the hardware on the appliance would have been done to update the monitoring configuration.
