Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
Hi, new to OneView an also my first post. I´m having difficulties with one server (out of 7). Oneview will not get the information from the device.
I have resetted the ILO, but with no luck.
No licenses in use on any of the other servers also, but they work normally. Server DL360 Gen9 and Gen10.
Latest SPP and ILOs are installed.
I checked that the _HPOneViewMonitor user is not being created to the ILO.
Here is the error that OneView is giving, but i cannot find much info about it. Can someone more experienced please help?
Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account on the management processor. This account is required for ongoing server management.
Locked
Resolution
Ensure network connectivity to the management processor is available, the maximum number of local accounts on the management processor has not been met, and the management processor user name 'Monitor Account for HPE OneView' does not exist. Refresh the server hardware.

Re: Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
When i try to create user on the ILO (Adminitration->New) to test, i get this error: Error 400 in adding new user. It does not matter what i write as a username.
I assume this is the proglem, because Oneview cannot add user _HPOneViewMonitor to the Ilo also.

Re: Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
Looks like the server is not added to OneView correctly.
Kindly follow the below steps and see it that helps address the issue reported.
1. Check if the ilo certificate is added in the OneView certificate repository.
Go to Settings --> Certificated --> Manage Certificate --> Search for certificate with iLO name or UUID.
If not available.
Click on Add Certificate. Follow the steps by inserting the requested details like iLO IP and Administrator User`name and Password.
Add and check if that helps address the issue.
What If the issue persists?
Remove the server from OneView and re-add the server to OneView and check for the certificate.
If none of the above steps help, Check if the iLO Ip is pingable from OneView. If the ping is unsuccessful , Engage your internal network team to check the communication issue.
Cheers...

Re: Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
On the Oneview->Manage certificates: There is a correct uuid and its in OK-state.
I removed the device from Server manager and added back, same problem continue.
Device is in the same network as are the other ILOs, that work normally.
Like mentioned before. On Oneview finds the device (and registers servername, hostname, cpu etc information. So it get some info.
There must be an issue with the User creation on the ILOs end. I cannot even add a user directly from the ILO itself:
When i try to create user on the ILO (Adminitration->New) to test, i get this error: Error 400 in adding new user. It does not matter what i write as a username.
I assume this is the proglem, because Oneview cannot add user _HPOneViewMonitor to the Ilo.
I tested to creating a new user on identical server (Adminitration->New), the user creation works normally and the user gets created.

Re: Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
If the iLO itself is not allowing a user to be created normally, something is up with the iLO. As you alluded to, OV will not be successful if the iLO is not allowing users to be created. And you've tried resetting the iLO to no avail. This sounds like a support case for the iLO. Another option could be to reinstall the iLO FW or try another version, which may "fix" the current behavior.

In that case you can try updating the iLO firmware to latest and check.
If the issue persists , Kindly raise a support case with HPE.

Re: Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
Hi, Downgraded latest 2.99 version to 2.91 version.
Tested user creation again, same result:
"Error 400 in adding new user: undefined" With a Red bar.
Is there some bios setting or an actual pin on the motherboard that could prevent the user creation?

Re: Unable to configure the appliance's server management user account - LOCKED
It appears there is something wrong with the iLO, if even after a downgrade it is still not allowing a user to be created. A support case would be the recommendation to try and resolve the issue.
