vmware vrealize operations 8.0 oneview integration

Just tried to install oneview management pack in vmware vrealize operations (vrops) version 8.0

The VMWare compatibility guide indicates version 2.4 of the management pack is needed for vrops 8.0

but available downloads don'ty provide such a 2.4 version (from www.hpe.com/downloads/ovpartners )

-> Is there a way to install oneview integration in vrops v8.0 ?

(also tried to install latest, 2.3, management pack, but at no success)

HPE OneView for VROPS 2.4, which supports VROPS 8.0, is targeted for availability on April 6.

You can download it from www.hpe.com/info/ovpartners . There is a slightly new process to download. After logging in to the new site, select the "Free Software" tab, then expand "HPE OneView". Then select "HPE OneView Partner Integrations"

As you noticed, HPE OneVIew for VROPS 2.3 will not support VROPS 8.0

Thanks for the sharing details on 2.4. currently management pack2.4 is supported till 8.0.

Can you please let me know when HPE One view management pack for vRealize Operations 8.1 will be available. Will there be seperate version of management pack for HPE Synergy oneview (part of composer module).

The plan is to certify the existing 2.4 version of the connector with 8.1.  We are hoping that this will not require any code changes on our part, but we have only just started testing it, so we won't know for a while yet.

There is not a separate connetor for Synergy. The same connector works with both OneView and Synergy.

I have installed the plugin 2.4 with VROPS 8.0, and i have upgraded to VROPS 8.1.

Now, the plugin Oneview 2.4 don't work.

I uninstall the plugin and it is impossible to reinstall the plugin again. An error occurred during the installation.

It seems the plugin is not compatible with the last VROPS 8.1.

Can you help me.

We are still in the process of testing the plugin version 2.4 with VROPS 8.1, so I can't give you a definite answer yet.

As you have noticed, the OV4VROPS 2.4 adapter is not working with VROPS 8.1

We are using HPE 2.4.1.1 on vROPS 8.1 and connection is for OneView 5.20

The adapter passes all tests but will not poll and child information does not exist, we are able to login to OneView using the adapater details (read only account) and all objects have information in the HPE OneView Console.

vROPS adapter logs are empty

I assume there are ESXi hosts attached to this?  If you check on an enclosure/Virtual Conenct that does not have any ESXi hosts configured, it will not show anything.

There are zero child objects in vROps, only oneview at the top of the tree (OneView has a full ESX enviroment running behind it) - cheking the xml code being passed into vrops it looks like the 2.4.1.1 adapter API/schema is not the correct format for vROps 8.1.1 (vmware marketplace says that the HPE OneView adapter dated 2nd Jul is for vROps 8.x)

the net result is that vrops 8.1.1 logs into OnveView ok with the adapter -  but does nothing with the data being read back in.

Do you see the issue with any specific dashboard ?

Are the objects & child objects discovered under the environment tab? 

Can you also try stopping and starting the colllection on the Oneview adpater in vROPS.

any other observation that you can share? we were not able to reproduce the issue.

There are no child objects - the adapter passed its connection test OK and appears to pull a load of XML data from OneView but do nothing with it, restart/uninstall have no effect unfortunately.

Can you confirm your versions that you are reproducing with? - please note that this is only vrops <-> OneView and no vcentre plugin is being used, the child objects are missing in vROps.

The OV4vROPs plugin relies on the vcenter plugin. You need to add the vcenter instance in vROPS that is managing the hosts/servers of the Oneview. Currently, the OV4VROPs plugin only shows data related to the servers that are managed by vcenter.

^ the above statement is not correct - there is no relationship, vrops logs into OV and parses data about the hardware and its counters. VC is not even in this conversation.

OV4vROPs will show the data for Server Hardware and related objects if that server hardware is managed as ESXi in the vcenter and the vcenter is add to vROPs.

Can you pls ensure the above is met ? if you still see the issue, i suggest to capture the log dumps and open a support ticket.

all of the 'vmware' products are already setup and reporting - but if you use the latest HPE 2.4.1 adapter and OneView 5.30 the adapter will not work. (documentation for 2.4.1 was initially missing) This is the issue - the developers are already working on this. I have an active case where they are working to update all the plugins to support the highest versions available.
