CSI Driver for Alletra 9060 - FC - HBA Connectivity

Hi 

I have a customer . he has recently procured Alletra 9060. These are connected to HPE Synergy with HBA Cards.

They run Vmware. on top of the VM , the chosen O/S is Ubuntu. On top of Unbuntu , they run Kubernetes Cluster. This is their application. They would like to connect this set to Alletera 9060 via HBA mode for Ultra Storage. They want the Kubernets direct connectivity to Alletra Volumes. 

To achieve the above set up, CSI Drivers on Alletra are required. How do we get Container Storage interface for Alletra 9060?

I have a doubt on the Server - storgae connectivity.

The SY480 server is connected with 16Gbps HBA Card , currently now.

Do we need ISCSI Card as must to install the CSI driver ? 

Are these below cards required ?

ption 1 - HPE 10 4-port Host Bus Adapter (Optical SFP+)

Option 2- HPE 10GBASE-T 4-port Host Bus Adapter (Copper – RJ45 )

The requirement for an iSCSI card depends on how your storage is connected to your server. If your storage is connected to your server using iSCSI protocol, then you will need an iSCSI HBA or a network interface card (NIC) that supports iSCSI offload to install the CSI driver.

However, if your storage is connected to your server using Fibre Channel protocol, then an iSCSI card is not required to install the CSI driver. In this case, the HPE 16Gbps HBA card that you have installed should be sufficient.

Regarding the additional HPE 10GBASE-T 4-port Host Bus Adapter and HPE 10 4-port Host Bus Adapter, they are not required for installing the CSI driver. These cards are used to provide additional connectivity options to your server, such as connecting to Ethernet networks or Fibre Channel networks. If you do not require additional connectivity options, then these cards are not necessary for your setup.
