How to set SCSI bus speed on a SMART-2DH
I have a Proliant 1850R with a SMART-2DH and several Compaq and non-Compaq drives in an external F1 enclosure. All the drives are at least Ultra-Wide capable, yet when I examine the details of each drive with ACU it tells me that they're all running at Fast-Wide.
How can I convince the controller to use Ultra-Wide?

Re: How to set SCSI bus speed on a SMART-2DH
OK, I think the problem lies in the fast that the F1 is only Fast-Wide capable, thus it's pulling the whole bus down to that speed. I have a similar setup on another server running an IBM ServeRAID, and it runs the drives at Ultra-Wide, but the ServeRAID doesn't recognise or interact with the "smarts" in the F1's, so it seems that it only limits the bus speed it the Storage System is recognised and initialized.
So I guess my options are to upgrade or replace the F1's, switch to a non-Compaq RAID controller, or settle with Fast-Wide. Bummer.

Re: How to set SCSI bus speed on a SMART-2DH
As already mentioned, the backplane in the F1 is fast wide. It won't matter which RAID controller you attach to it as the limiting factor is going to be the backplane.
