SmartArray 5300 woes

I've recently purchased a Compaq SmartArray 5300 controller and have been banging my head trying to configure it. My problem is trying to initialize disks and create an array. I can't seem to get into the rom based array config utility.

I know the controller supports ORCA because I was in it a few times when it prompted me, but has not prompted me since. Even with my external Adaptec (passive) scsi enclosure connected it remains silent!

Any help would be appreciated!

Why don't you try with Array Configuration Utility, normally availabe in a smart start CD or downloadable from the HP site.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

I should have mentioned that this controller is not in a hp/compaq system. The SmartStart CD will only work in hp/compaq proliant systems.
