Morning all.
Will be upgrading our simplivity stack to 8u3h with the latst frmware iso image and I would like to check if there is Oneview support for the simplivity firmware service packs or if it can only be automated via the simplivity upgrade manager?
Thanks in advance for the information.

SolutionHello @AndrewR2,
OneView can manage the underlying ProLiant server firmware/BIOS/iLO updates, but it does not replace the SimpliVity Upgrade Manager for applying SimpliVity software/service‑pack (OmniStack / HCI stack) upgrades. In practice, you’ll typically use OneView (or SUM/OneView firmware bundles) for the hardware firmware and use the SimpliVity Upgrade Manager (and the SimpliVity upgrade workflow) for the SimpliVity software/service‑pack and ISO image components.
HPE-supported upgrade paths normally require hardware firmware/BIOS/iLO to be at supported levels for a given SimpliVity software release. You can use OneView to push the supported firmware bundle, then run the SimpliVity Upgrade Manager to apply the SimpliVity service pack/ISO.
Check the following before upgrading:
HPE Interoperability/Support Matrix and the SimpliVity release notes for the 8u3h/service pack you plan to deploy (they list supported server models, iLO/BIOS/firmware minimum/maximum versions).
OneView version compatibility with your server models and desired firmware bundles.
Backup and cluster health (run pre‑upgrade checks).
Order of operations recommended in the SimpliVity upgrade guide (firmware first if required, then SimpliVity software).
Regards,
Azr_geek

Re: Oneview support of Simplivity firmware patching
Thanks for confriming this @Azr_geek .
AS the hardware is DL325 Gen 10 The omnistack version is frozen at 5.1.0 U1 so will only be doing the firmware and esxi software.
